Villa Tugendhat in Brünn

The Tugendhat Villa in Brno - Černé Pole is considered the first modern monument of the Czech Republic.

The villa was built on the hillside overlooking the town over Brünn in 1928. It was designed by the renowned German architect Mies van der Rohe, who flawlessly combined the use of high-quality building materials with the emerging modern technology of the early 20th century.

The Tugendhat Villa is regarded as a pioneer of modern architecture on an international scale.

The Tugendhat Villa was added to the UNESCO list in 2001, and is only the fourth monument in the world, which has received this honorary title.
