Trass Powder

Trass (volcanic ash), is an excellent bonding agent in combination with lime putty. Both mortars and plasters benefit from the addition of trass, making them stronger and more resistant to the weathering. Trass is a natural mineral construction material and is recommended by construction biologists.

Composition:

Trass, according to ÖNORM B3323

Applicability:

Trass is suitable as a lime mortar aggregate for walls and plastering. Lime putty to ratio of  1  part lime putty to 0.1 – 0.25 parts of trass (10-20%). The addition of sand is possible, depending on the application and the type of sand being used.

Processin:

• Dullinger trass is an excellent bonding agent in combined with lime putty.
• “Al fresco” (wet on wet) processing is recommended.
• Do not use if air and surface temperature are below 5° C.
