Within the artistic project Art in the “White House”, the “white house” on Vienna's Westbahn street, was painted completely in white with Dullinger “Arctica” lime colour. Not only the exterior but also the interior of the building was done by using various lime techniques.

The semicircular sales counter was first smoothed with Dullinger's 0,5 (fine) putty plaster and then coated with Dullinger's “Arctica” lime colour. The “Chips Away” logo was done using a 0,5 (fine) colour gradated plaster. The desired 3d effect was achieve with the aid of a template and our 0,5 (fine) plaster.

Auditorium of the university of Salzburg gets a "face lift"

The major auditorium of the University of Salzburg, founded in 1622, is a spiritually important site, with regard to baroque theatre culture of the 17th and 18th century. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's first opera “Apollo und Hyacinthus” for example, was premiered in this very auditorium.

The original hall had smooth white walls and a wooden waffle-slab ceiling. Repeated renovation work over the years led to a loss of its original character. Especially the renovations of the 19th and 20th century, led to increasing changes in appearance. The newer layers of paint and plaster where not made with historically accurate materials, but utilized glue and dispersion paints.

The renovations in 2006 where done exclusively with limestone products. After removing the previous layers of paint, the surface was treated with Dullinger lime putty filler. In the next step, four thin layers of 6 year old Dullinger Lime putty were applied, to recreate the original appearance. The new soundproofed ceiling also received a coating of Dullinger “Arctica” lime colour.

The restoration work was done by the German company “Neubauer Reiner”, from 83093 Bad Endorf.

Today, the appearance of the auditorium has once again been largely restored to the state that Mozart saw his works performed in.
